“We are one of the major construction management consultants in Finland”
25.3.2025 – At Granlund, construction management and supervision are growing at a nice rate. Customer satisfaction is high, and both net sales and the number of employees increased at a record rate last year.

Last year, Granlund’s construction management and supervision net sales in Finland increased by 39% (25% in 2023) to approximately EUR 24 million. The target was net sales of approximately EUR 20 million.
“We have grown into one of Finland’s largest construction management consultants. Our final standing will be revealed in the spring when the official statistics come out,” says Tapani Muttonen, Business Director, Construction Management.
Construction management is already performed by all of Granlund’s business units in Finland. The construction management and supervision services include renovation, condition surveys and assessments as well as data-driven 4D planning and cost control to support cost and schedule management.

Recruiting for project managers for international projects
Last year, the construction management and supervision business hired approximately 60 new experts, increasing the number of employees to more than 200 in Finland. Many of the new experts are working on large international industrial projects, data center projects or battery projects.
“The next step is to recruit more supervisors. The emphasis when selecting them will also be on solid experience of at least ten years as well as excellent language skills.”
In recent years, the focus of construction management projects has been on renovation, with our regular customers including a host of major property owners, such as Senate Properties and the City of Helsinki. There is also increasing demand for business premises projects for international property investors.
“The range of projects is extremely wide, from alterations to long-term renovations and cleanroom construction,” says Sauli Heino, Head of Department, Renovation at Granlund.
Kuopio has the most satisfied construction management customers
In Granlund’s customer satisfaction survey, construction management and supervision came first for the second time. Overall customer satisfaction was 4.27 (on a scale of 1–5), with an NPS score of 64. In the Kuopio region, the customer feedback was even better.
“Our NPS score was 100. Our worst score was for staying on schedule, with a score of 9.55 on a scale of 1–10,” tells Pekka Turunen, Head of Construction Management at Kuopio, with tongue-in-cheek regret.
Projects in Eastern Finland are based on many different project management models, such as the PMC project management service. Local knowledge is particularly important in construction management, and long-term partnerships are strongly based on trust. It is important to listen to and understand the customer.
Willingness to improve is an important part of employer image
The excellent year has highlighted Granlund’s positive employer image. In job interviews, applicants emphasised a culture that values employees as well as development opportunities.
“Growing the construction management business in itself attracts good applicants, and many see our investment in development operations bringing important added value,” says Heino.
Each year, Granlund invests 6–10% of its net sales in innovation and development.
Once again, we have created a growth strategy for construction management and supervision, which is aimed at internationalisation and raising our profile in healthcare projects, for example. In addition, we want to provide our project managers and customers with cutting-edge digital tools.
“We are constantly striving to develop the situational picture and data management of projects, which is why we use an entirely different set of tools than Excel and Word,” says Muttonen.
